Even though there is snow outside, our plants are doing well and we've added a couple of florals. In honour of St.Patrick's Day on March 17th, I bought a shamrock plant for the classroom. The tiny, white flowers are so cheerful. Also, I see that our daffodil is beginning to bloom.

Making Pretzels
On Friday, we made pretzels in kindergarten. We learned that the pretzel shape was invented by a monk during Lent in the early 600's. He made the pretzel shape out of scraps of bread dough in order to teach the children how to fold their arms across their chest during prayer. Isn't that interesting?

The children rolled out their dough, so they could make the pretzel shape. |

Spinning the dough helped to make it a thinner piece, which was easier to shape into a pretzel. |

Here are the pretzels, ready to go into the oven. |

Thank you, Jingke, for all of your hard work! |

One little friend even made the pretzel shape out of play dough! |

Marble rolling art
This week, we had fun painting with marbles. We dipped each marble in paint, then tilted the shoebox to make the marble roll and paint a unique piece of art.

More math fun!
The children put their "math muscles" to work this week, sorting different ways to show the numbers from one to ten. They're so smart!
