Crazy hair day and pink day

Today has been lots of fun in Kindergarten!

It was "Crazy Hair Day" at school and we were also working on the colour pink in Kindergarten. 

Check out the beautiful flamingos we made. Look how nicely the children coloured! They are holding their papers using their helper hand and doing their best to colour inside the lines. It makes my heart happy! 

They absolutely loved gluing on the feathers, too. For now, the flamingos are decorating our classroom wall. They will go home in a few weeks. 

The children thought my pink hair was really funny. Don't worry--its just a wig!

Purple day

Today we celebrated the colour purple. The children tried dried dates. Not many of them liked them, but they at least tried them!

The children also used purple paint to finger-paint a picture of a bunch of grapes. They really enjoyed getting their fingers into the paint!

Yellow, Green and Blue day crafts

We certainly have been busy in Kindergarten!

The suns and turtles went home last night. The ocean plates will go home today.

We celebrated the colour black today

Today we wore black, painted black spiders, ate blackberries and brainstormed about what things were black.

The spiders needed to dry, so they will be coming home tomorrow.

 

Some of the children found the blackberries too seedy, but most of them tried them! I told them that I used to pick wild raspberries and blackberries when I was a little girl.

We celebrated the colour red today

Today was the first day of our "Colour of the week" schedule. We celebrated the colour red today. We ate red raspberries, made red apples and wore red shirts. Here are a few pictures.

Our kindergartens are getting to know each other through play. Here is a snapshot of our morning play time.

Sorting in math class!

Today in kindergarten, we were sorting objects by colour. The kinders did such a great job! Maybe they can practise sorting their toys by colour at home.
