We had a special visitor in Kindergarten today. Mrs. Galambos's brother is a firefighter and he came in to talk to us about fire safety. The children asked lots of great questions and they loved checking out all of his cool gear!
Firefighter Devin asked all of us to check our homes to make sure that we had smoke detectors on all floors. If you are missing a smoke detector, you can contact the City of Calgary Home Safety Program for help. Here is a link to their website:

Another thing Firefighter Devin asked us to do was to talk to our families about creating a home escape plan. The link above also has great information about creating your own home escape plan with your family. Just like we practice fire drills at school so that we know what to do in the case of emergency, we should also practice our home escape plans.
